Nutriri Joins NHS Clinical Entrepreneurs Programme – A Win for Patient-Led Innovation!

  • Nutriri Weight Neutral

Great news for VCSE Nutriri! We've joined the NHS Clinical Entrepreneurs Programme (CEP), specifically the Patient Entrepreneurs cohort. This is a huge step for us, amplifying our work to de-stigmatise services and systems in health, food and movement.

The NHS CEP is all about empowering individuals to innovate within healthcare. For Nutriri, it means bringing our crucial perspective on the impacts of stigma to a wider NHS audience.

What's the Patient Entrepreneur Programme?

The Patient Entrepreneur Programme (PEP) is a cohort within the NHS CEP, designed for people with lived experience who are developing healthcare innovations. This aligns perfectly with Nutriri's approach: true health improvements come from understanding real-life experiences.

Being part of PEP gives us access to:

  • CPD Accredited Educational Events: "Pit Stops" for blended learning.

  • Expert Mentorship: Guidance from statutory and industry leaders.

  • Networking: A diverse community of entrepreneurs and mentors.

  • Bespoke Commercial Education: To refine and scale our work.

  • Development Tools: Practical resources for real change.

The Big Pitch: Celebrating Innovation

Last week, we attended The Big Pitch, the NHS CEP's annual celebration and networking event. It was inspiring to see so many innovative projects presented. This event highlights the incredible talent and dedication within the programme, fostering connections and showcasing the future of healthcare. It truly underscored the power of a connected network of entrepreneurs.

Your Turn: Apply for the Next Cohort!

Our PEP journey has just begun, and we're excited about the possibilities. The NHS wants more patient entrepreneurs. If you have lived experience of a health condition and an innovative idea, this programme could be for you.

Applications for the next Patient Entrepreneur Programme cohort typically open in the autumn. You'll need:

  • Lived experience as a patient, carer, or family member.

  • An innovation beyond the idea stage.

  • To be based in England.

The application involves a one-minute video pitch, a detailed idea explanation, It's thorough, but the support is immense.

If your project could make a difference, we urge you to apply. Keep an eye on the NHS CEP website (nhscep.com/pep/) for application details. Our NHS needs You!
