So you've found us; you've heard a little (or a lot) about body neutrality - acceptance - positivity, or intuitive eating, maybe you're fed up with judgement and diet culture and want to find ease for yourself, your family and society generally...
Welcome!
We start by exploring our own food and body thoughts, and keeping in mind that there are Eight billion kinds of normal, we are here to find and honour our own 'normal' - As You Are.
There's a 'quiet readiness' to exploring our own versions of food ease, and the same goes for body ease too. And either might be hard to spot; especially through the noise of our social and family cultures. Expect inconsistencies - give full permission for inconsistency to appear - make use of this community, keep checking in and sharing how things are.
'Feeding Hunger' the first practice - if you're choosing to use the nutriri eating framework, is a way to begin finding your own version of 'food ease'.
If we are coming from a world where we've held 'good and bad food lists' forefront in our minds, then approaching desired foods, through a settled eating practice, might feel a bit daunting - we are here to hold your hand :)
We talk about 'desired foods' becoming the foods you want to eat, knowing that your choices, in time, are ones that will also nurture you.
Body Trust; knowing that our bodies can guide and nurture us, recognising the attachments (to certain outcomes) that have formed over time and letting go of those that no longer serve us, we can appreciate our body fully.
In The Moment: how to be in the moment more with food and movement, cultivating present moment awareness and staying curious to our actual experience.
Move for Joy: work alongside Nutriri to create 'body neutral' nurturing language and care, through movement, to help you focus on what you CAN do. We've included some online content to get you started...
By exploring the opposite of hunger, we can let go of restrictions and use our curiosity to tune into finding full.
Active Acceptance - the practice of synthesising everything we're learning together here with your lived, and living, experience of existing in your unique body.
Cravings Next Time: Let's find out how cravings can take a hold and how we can break an unhelpful cycle.
And with an increased understanding of Thought Wellbeing, we see how self compassion (just like everything else) is a practice.
This section is where we'll publish resources as the course develops over time. It's a place to share articles, research papers and creators you like on socials too...
